Revive Nine-Nine

A club installation is known tradition for Rotaract and Rotary clubs all around the globe. But with a worldwide pandemic in progress, this year clubs had a unique challenge to face. The installation of the Rotaract Club of Thane Hills, conducted via zoom, took place on the 11th of June, with over 368 people in attendance. The club members followed a traditional ceremony with a modern, technological spin to it. The theme of the ceremony, Revive Nine-Nine, was based off a popular TV sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which showcases a group of diverse characters in a police precinct who are each other’s found family, tackling obstacles together. It intended to show our club member’s unity in our diversity, and our aim of reviving our club’s glory. The MOC’s of the event, our very own Rtr. Deepashree Shanbagh and Rtr. Shreya Prabhu, kept the event energetic with the occasional banter and the event followed through smoothly with next to no technical difficulties. After an emotional outgoing speech by Rtr. Dr. Soniya Kadam, the incoming president Rtr. Noopur Rahane accepted her presidential year in an inspiring speech about what’s in store for the club in 20-21. The induction of the Core team, Board of Directors and General Body Members followed right after. The Guest of Honour at the event was Rtn. Bijay Yadav, the president of our own parent club Rotary Club of Thane Hills. Followed by his motivating speech, Chief Guest Rtn. Amit Lad was invited to address the audience. After the vote of thanks by Vice-President Rtr. Shreya Prabhu and the secretarial report by Secretary Rtr. Subroto Mukherjee, the meeting was adjourned by President Rtr. Noopur at 5:45 pm.
